To aspire for the unknown is a brave task
Not one for the faint hearted
Using pen and sword alike to last
In this world once departed
While the rabble languishes on
One works feverishly on his mission
Burdened by the mockery of those
Who scorn his ambition
Perhaps one shall lie eternally untouched
Or will only have vestiges of glory
Will one’s legend be recounted forever
Or become a long-forgotten story
Irony indeed, one will never know
If his life’s work has been rewarded at last
For the true measure of it will be in death
When others pass judgement on the past
Beset on all sides by mediocrity and sloth
Inspiring is the man
Who seeks greatness unheard of
Only because he can
